Hitler's Daughter. A new take on a classic from the master of children's literature, by Jackie French. The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Opera Carnivalé and the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music present the premiere of Hitler's Daughter, composed by Lachlan Massey and directed by Dr Narelle Yeo.
Jackie French is an Australian icon. Author of over 140 books (including Diary of A Wombat), a former Australian Children's Laureate and Senior Australian of the Year, this woman has done it all. Her children's novel, Hitler's Daughter, was awarded Book of the Year (2000) for Younger Readers.
Two decades later, the book comes to life in an exciting new opera. The production casts singers from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, alongside a specially formed chorus of children from the Illawarra region.
